Foreign Skilled Worker
The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program is one of the three programs within Canada’s Express Entry system for processing permanent residency applications. All programs within Express Entry are competitive and use the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to rank candidates. Based on their credentials, applicants are awarded CRS points.
The processing time for the FSW stream is 6 months.
To be eligible to apply, you must meet the program requirements:
- Must work in one of the following NOC job groups:
- Managerial jobs (skill type 0)
- Professional jobs (skill level A)
- Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill level B)
- Must be within the last 10 years;
- Must work at least 30 hours a week (full-time);
- Reach a minimum of level 7 on an approved English or French language test. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB)
- A minimum of a Canadian high school diploma or the equivalent in foreign education.
- You must intend to live outside of the province of Quebec.
- Have an employment offer letter.
Once you receive the Invitation to apply, applicants and the accompanying dependants must also undergo medical examinations and obtain security clearances as part of application process.
You will get points for your:
- Education;
- Language Abilities;
- Your work experience;
- Your age;
- If you have an offer of employment for work in Canada.
You must also score a minimum of 67 points under the following IRCC selection factors in order to be eligible to apply:
