What if the previous fee was paid?

Your application won’t be impacted by the increased fees if you filed a complete online application prior to the fee rise. Online applications are processed instantly by IRCC, which guarantees full payment at the time of submission.
If your application was mailed prior to the fee change, you may have paid the previous price for paper applications, such as a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) extension.
Generally speaking, the IRCC won’t deny paper applications because of fee adjustments if:
The application is complete, the previous fee was paid in full, and it was mailed prior to the fee rise.
After receiving your application, the IRCC will give you information on how to pay the difference between the old and new costs if more money is required.
